Nine Babies: Six Litres of Milk and 100 Nappies a Day

A few months ago, the news, we imagine, reached all corners of the globe. Nine babies, a world record for humanity, were born to a 25-year-old Malian woman, before that record was officially broken by the birth of ten babies in South Africa on 10 June this year. Today, the Malian couple’s infants are doing well and are still being very closely monitored. Nine babies with just one desire: to drink milk. Currently, six litres a day have to be prepared to satisfy the gargantuan appetite of these tiny tots.

We know that the Malian government has completely covered the medical assistance given in Morocco; what we don’t know is whether the happy couple will be entitled to any special benefits when they return to their own country; a few months from now, they will need an average of ten litres of milk and an “exorbitant” number of nappies every day.
