A group of Chinese archaeologists recently discovered pots dating back 9000 years and containing traces of botanical and microbial materials, suggesting a beer-making process. Currently, the oldest proof of alcohol production dates back around 13,000 years. That was also “beer”, made by semi-nomadic inhabitants from the “Natufian” culture, in a region located between what is now Israel and the West Bank.
