USA: Wine Millionaires

During the public health crisis, two North American ladies with already very successful careers decided to start up an online wine sales business, The Sip Society. It’s a subscription service where, every other month, subscribers receive a presentation box containing three sample-sized bottles of wine, generally sparkling, along with educational materials: it’s a home wine tasting session which seems to help with the buying process. After a difficult start, the Sip Society managed to bring in over a million dollars in 2021. It was during a “girls night” that Erica Davis and Catherine Carter came up with the outline of this business model, entirely built around one of their common interests: wine.
