Potentially Toxic Residue in Teabags

Stones, plastic,insects, traces of pesticides, rodent hair… This is the worrying and not terribly appealing list of “foreign bodies” contained in some teabags. A study was published last Thursday in the French magazine 60 Millions de Consommateurs which made a worrying observation – one that poses a problem for the industry and remains a potential threat to health. “All conventional black and green teas and most verbena-based herbal teas are affected” the magazine indicates, adding: Only organic teas come with a guarantee of no pesticides”.
