Although Coca-Cola finally managed to establish itself as a lasting presence in France, despite the long lasting and irreducible disdain shown by the “Gauls” for the global drink, Starbucks, the worldwide “takeaway coffee” brand, couldn’t oust Italy’s espresso from its throne. Now with just a single outlet in all of Italy, Starbucks, present in 78 countries, has been unable to change Italians’ age-old way of drinking and enjoying their coffee.
