$100 for a bag of coffee (we don’t know the weight of the bag in question) seems a rather alarming indicator of the economic situation in a country that has been “cut off from the world” for decades. In addition to this meteoric price hike, another worrying sign is an announcement made by one of the last “Stalinist” leaders on the planet, who has warned his subjects of a possible new “Forced March”. This term, in the North-Korean collective memory, calls to mind the famine of the 1990s, one of the most deadly ever experienced by the country…
