Champagne Shortage in Spain

The Spanish hospitality industry is worried. The country is currently facing a shortage of Champagne and spirits as a consequence of a tendency to caution linked to the numerous lockdowns; however, when normal life resumed, demand rose sharply and deliveries have been unable to replenish stocks quickly enough. Some sellers have almost entirely run out of the really popular iconic brands: “It’s been difficult to get deliveries for 20 or 30 days… Some brands of gin, tequila, and whiskey have become impossible to find…” a Madrid bar manager complained.
